Alan Nafzger wrote the script in 2016 for award-winning actor Albert Chan Paran only to learn afterward Albert can’t swim making it difficult for him to play the role. In 2019 there was actually a similar incident at Reed Bank where Filipino fishermen actually did need to be rescued after their boat was sunk in open water.

We can now show you the script –> West Philippine Sea

Who will benefit? While the LGBTQ community has adopted this story as their own, that doesn’t mean it won’t benefit progressive and open-minded movie audiences. This is a main-stream movie designed to be shown in theaters and in the United States we expect to receive a PG-13 rating.

What will the funds will be used for? This is a professional done feature length film. Story rights, crew wages, production design, live set and studio costs, costumes, visual effects, music and marketing. After the film is made, some of the funds will be used to show the film at various film festivals: Cannes, Tribeca, Metro Manila, Pride International Film Festival.

How soon do we need the funds? Romm wants to begin filming when the dry season begins in November. However, the money is needed now for pre-production costs. Later, there will be production and post-production costs.

Can this film win awards? We believe the story (script) has award potential and your support today can help make that a reality.

Romm, Alan and all the cast and crew are very grateful you will be helping.
