Plus/Minus Screenplay

The Plus/Minus screenplay was bought and developed by Director: Wanuri Kahiu, Production Co: Screen Arcade [US]. 28,075. A screenplay, or script, is a written work by screenwriters for a film, television program, or video game. These screenplay.biz/top-screenplays/" 786 target="_blank">screenplays can be original works or adaptations from existing pieces of writing. In them, the movement, actions, expression and dialogues of the characters are also narrated. To drive the point home, let’s look at the classic film Jaws. I’m using a classic film as an example instead of modern film because most you have probably seen this movie. But the three-story structure can be found in any film! Instead of breaking Jaws into Acts, I’m going to break it into three stories so you can see what I’m talking about.

Development

This stage mainly consists of planning and conceptualising a script Plus/Minus, based off a book, another movie, a true story, or can even be an original concept. After approval, the director works with the writers to come up with a step-by-step outline of the progression of the film. It’s time for me to be blunt. The fact that you can’t think of your story as three separate stories is the reason you’re still an aspiring writer instead of a professional writer. The pros know how to look at story as if it’s three separate stories while maintaining the integrity of the whole story. It’s no easy task. It’s like a puzzle. It looks scattered at first, but it slowly comes together when the writer begins to work with the individual pieces, until finally it’s a masterpiece where everything fits together to perfection.

Pre-Production

In this phase, the key objective is to narrow down options and plan the development of the movie in terms of Plus/Minus film cast, film crew, and budget. A line manager or production manager is usually hired during this process to create a schedule and manage the budget for the film. Pre-production also includes figuring out the shoot location. I can hear novice writers screaming “This doesn’t work!” “I have to think of the story as a whole!” “What about setups in Act I that are paid off in Act II and Act III?” “What about the hero’s arc?”

The production stage is when the actual practical Plus/Minus film production work begins. The primary aim is to stick to the budget and schedule, which requires constant attentiveness. The film director works with the cast and crew to ensure that everything goes as planned. Communication is key between all the involved parties.  Director: Wanuri Kahiu, Production Co: Screen Arcade [US] will be producing this film. 2) Start thinking of each Act as its own story. Writers know that at the end of Act I and Act II there is a plot point that spins the story in a new direction. The ‘new direction’ is like the start of a new story. By thinking of each Act as its own story with its own beginning, middle and end, the writer can free his mind from the daunting task of 120-blank pages staring back at him. Instead, the writer has broken the story into manageable chunks.

Photography

Plus/Minus Photography is essentially the most expensive phase in film production. This is because of the salaries owed to the actor, director and set crew, as well as the costs of certain shots, props and special effects, if needed. All the previous stages have been set to ensure the smooth transition of photography. This is where the camera rolls, so it is important for the film director to follow the schedule and remain within the budget. Genre: Drama. Now, all this exposition could be deadly dull — and the filmmakers let the audience know that they know this by having Jake yawn and read the racing reports. (Also we see him sneak a look at the elderly farmers, who are riveted — this is a set up for what is to come.)

Wrap – Plus/Minus

The period immediately after the shooting ends, when all the cameras are turned off. During this stage of Plus/Minus, everything gets disassembled and the set is cleared of the cast and crew. All equipment and props must be returned in a functioning order, to the suppliers and there must be an inventory list. This film also beautifully depicts the central fact about Los Angeles that every native is always aware of: L.A. really is a desert, and never more than a few thousand gallons away from dying of thirst.
